Soldier's Girl 是真實故事所改編的。
22歲的軍人 Barry Winchell 愛上在 pub 表演歌舞秀的變性人 Calpernia Addams，二人的戀情被恐同的室友 Justin Fisher 發現，無法接受的 Justin Fisher 使手段讓 Winchell 成為眾人欺凌的對象，Winchell 為了不讓自己的秘密曝光而默默地忍受著，沒想到 Fisher 居然唆使另一位同袍 Calvin Glover 趁 Winchell 睡覺時，用球棒將他打死。
Justin Fisher 因為主動認罪，只被判刑12年6個月，他在獄中表現良好，去年8月被移轉到 halfway house，在10 月被釋放。
完成變性手術的 Calpernia Addams 這幾年開始轉往演藝圈發展，imdb 上面的資料不是很齊全，有興趣的人可以去她的網站看看她有在哪些影集、電影裡客串演出→◎
比較好找的就是 Transamerica （窈窕老爸）啦，在戲裡拉小提琴的那位女士就是她。
